Yachtsman Steakhouse - Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Finally one of the places we've been wanting to try for years. Great to finally cross it off the bucket list. So this restaurant is located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort and is a sit-down venue on the upscale side. We ended up booking our visit here for my wife's birthday after debating countless restaurants for weeks. This was a great choice. The menu isn't big, but it doesn't need to be. Service we felt was good. The food however, was way beyond our expectations and was some of the best we've ever had. It's one of those places you go to and leave wanting to go back again tomorrow. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back again, hopefully soon! Let's head to the food.
Update (October 2019). We've been on such a high since our first visit back in January. Told everyone about it and couldn't wait to come back. Well this time we brought about 12 people with us for dinner. For starters they grouped us in two tables of 6 which was a bit odd with so many tables that could have been put together instead of two round tables. It was awkward sitting back to back with people you were trying to dine with. On top of that we had two different waiters. Our table had terrible service and food was not what we had last time at all. Out of the 6 at our table 4 of our meals came out either cold, under cooked, over cooked or not correct. Personally my first steak came out well done (ordered medium), second time it came out rare (borderline still mooing). My wife's steak was under and cold. She said no steak seasoning and came out without the truffle butter. Just mistake, after mistake, both from our waitress to the kitchen. It was not what we remembered. The other table, perfect service, perfect food. I'm sure we will be back eventually, but we lost a bit of faith at Disney and their dining.

Welcome to one of my favorite resorts, Disney's Yachtclub Resort!
I love this part of my dinner!
We start off with onion rolls and sourdough bread. Both of these were good, ended up getting seconds.
The bread comes with butter and roasted garlic. Oh my was that garlic good!
Needed to get a sangria. Pretty basic.
I was told that the Lobster Bisque was the best you'll ever eat. Well I'm a big fan of a nice Bisque, this for me wasn't the best I've ever had. It fell towards a middle of the pack. My best were on Carnival Liberty at the Diamond Steakhouse and over at Narcoossee's.
Here was our second Lobster Bisque. This one was great. It's what I wanted on our first visit. Just the right amount of creaminess and flavor balance.
Onto the entrees. We looked over the menu with great attention to every detail of the each option. We both then said before we spoke of what we wanted of the two stand outs. One of those was the Lobster Pasta, which is a very generous portion of Maine Lobster Tail, Leek Ash Spaghetti, Mushrooms, Milk Stout Creme and Herb Crumbs. Oh my lobstah! That alone was worth the money spent of this dish. Couldn't believe the perfection of the cook and size of the lobster. The pasta and sauce was also amazing as well. Really happy we decided to go with this dish. Did not disappoint at all.
This is the 8oz Black Angus Filet Mignon. Now we didn't expect anything more than a normal filet, which lately hasn't been to great at Disney, HOWEVER what we were served here was way beyond our expectations and hands down the best steak we've ever. We opted for the baked potato. You're able to get any side that is offered on the steak menu. We enjoyed our potato, cooked great. Back to the piece of heaven we were served. The cook and flavor was textbook perfect. Up to this point our standout was next door at the Swan & Dolphin at Shula's Steakhouse. This steak here made that look like nothing, this destroyed every other steak we've ever eaten with its amazing flavor. HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here, you will not be disappointed!!!
Updated on the filet, well like I mentioned about in our update. This was the first attempt, overdone (requested medium), then underdone. They could not get it right at all. The undercooked steak was still decent, but more upset at the service that entire night. Truffle butter is life.
This was the side of Potato-Leek Gratin. So me and my wife ordered this (second trip), she had one super salty, while mine was perfect. Such a huge portion, didn't even eat half. Just so much with the steak.
