Westgate River Ranch Resort

Before the pandemic we decided on booking a resort stay at Westgate River Ranch. A few things we wanted that drove us to stay here, one is the weekly Rodeo and second the glamping tents. Our first trip was over Forth of July weekend, and our first trip during the "new normal" way of life. Let's see how it goes!

Overall this resort was GREAT! One tip we can recommend is getting a golf cart. You can drive your own car around, but the cart is 10000 times easier to get around. Also we enjoyed just driving around the entire property.

One thing we loved was that their is a category room type for every budget. You can stay in your own tent, an RV, regular room, cabin, rail car, glamping tent and even a tepee. We went with the glamping tent. It was really cool. I do recommend going when it is cooler out, it does have a/c, but it's not the best. Bring fans and anything help that will help to cool you down.

The resort had so much to do, their site has an entire list of activities that you can check out and do. One thing we did was the rodeo on Saturday night. This was so much fun, get there a little early to park and get a good seat. The show was an hour long, it does vary depending on how the bull riding goes. Tons of fun!

One downside we noticed was the pools. I thought they had two, but ended up being just one that we found. Kinda wished they would add more on the property since they have so much room for them. However we really didn't have much time to do that.

Overall we really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back again real soon!

Here is the main lobby area where you check-in. Word of advice, there is a sign that says drive up check in. Well there isn't one. So park in the spots up front and walk in. We tried, along with 5 other cars and they had no idea why we were all there.

Next door you can get a workout in.

They have a Western Store for all your rodeo needs.

They even have their own airport. We stayed right next to it and barely heard the planes.

This was the Smokehouse Grill. Was not open during our stay, due to the pandemic.

Next door is the Marina. Here you can get on some of your excursions as well as your equipment for catch and release fishing.

Archery and shooting is available for an extra cost.

Here is the River Ranch Saloon, one of the hot spots on the property.

This is the rodeo stadium. Highly recommend it!

Onto our room. This was our Glamping Tent. Spacious and came with a propane grill and outside area. Was a bit warm during the day in the 80s and 90s inside, night time cooled down a lot.
