ICE: A Christmas Story

ICE: A Christmas Story - Gaylord Palms Resort

This is going to be a fun one! Today we head over to Gaylord Palms to check out their annual event called ICE. Every year around the Christmas season they setup their convention center with amazing Ice Displays, each year having a different theme, this year being A Christmas Story. A favorite of ours.

This was our first time going to ICE. They do offer coupons sometimes online, such as Groupon so make sure to look for them. Also a reminder, parking is around $23 in addition to tickets.

The tickets include the actual Ice Carving section, which is kept at 9 degrees. Make sure to dress warm, you are given a coat but it is very cold so bring pants, gloves and a hat. We also recommend a facemask.

Also available is a large shopping section as well as some food and drink spots. They also have other items such as tubing that are an extra fee.

Since you're already here, make sure to check out Gaylord Palms, it is an amazing resort. We stayed here several years ago and loved it. The biggest draw of the resort is that most of the resort is indoors. The pool, or should I say water park is the only thing outdoors. So after you're done checking out ICE, make sure to walk around the resort and enjoy yourself. This is a resort like nothing else in Orlando.

If you're wanting a resort outside of the Disney area, this is in a perfect location. Just right down the road from Disney.

Let's get going on the tour from this year's ICE event at Gaylord Palms, featuring A Christmas Story!

We start our tour in the Alpine Village.

Here is the Gingerbread Decorating class, an extra charge.

He is the area that you can do shopping. A ton of great items, tons from the movie. We picked up a shirt and ornament.

More items available for purchase. Nothing is cheap and poorly made, everything was amazing quality.

Also a Build-a-Bear workshop.

We picked up one of these!

Don't do it!

Not sure what they did here, probably a show.

Time to step into the 9 degree winter wonderland and check out this years theme, A Christmas Story!

We start off at the house on good ole Cleveland Street. How could I ever forget it? Well look at what is in the window, it's a major award! Yes everything is made of, ICE! Event this amazingly large house.

Here we are with Ralphie, looking at that one gift he really wants this year for Christmas.

There it is, the official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle.

Randy, you can put your arms down when you get to school.

Scut Farkys! What a rotten name! He stared at them with his yellow eyes! So help me, God! Yellow eyes! Right behind him Grover Dill, that little toadie!

 Don't do it Flick!

Aaah! "Fra-GEE-leh!", it must be Italian!

Only Ralphie didn't say "Fudge", he said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

Oh no Ralphie! Hopefully you enjoy the taste of Palmolive.

Couldn't say that he heard it from his father.

The only happy person in the class to actually do this project.

Good job Ralphie!

Randy, have some milk. Don't be upset, the Old Man won't kill Ralphie.

So now I get a chance to take a ride down the slide. This was a ton of fun!

But first, I get to meet Santa and tell him what I want for Christmas.

Now we come to Christmas morning.

Aunt Clara for years was under the delusion that Ralphie was only perpetually 4 years old, and also a girl.

Ut oh! The BB shoots off the target and hits Ralphie in his eye! He shot his eye out!

Those Bumpus hounds! They took the turkey!

 Sons of bitches! Bumpuses!

Deck the harrs with boughs of horry, fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra. Tis the season to be jorry, fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra.

Time for bed!

Okay, let's head to a warmer area. My face and hands are frozen!

So back outside, what better way to warm up then some food and hot chocolate.

Onto the other side, here you have a bar and some games.

As well as tubing, which is extra.

Also included is the Christmas Tree Trail, which is inside the resort area.

That tree alone is huge, looks so small in this HUGE atrium. Make sure to check out the resort.

Thank you for checking out our review and tour of Gaylord Palms annual event, ICE! Which features A Christmas Story.
