Bull & Bear Restaurant (Waldorf Astoria Resort)

Bull & Bear Restaurant - Waldorf Astoria

Named one of the best restaurants in Orlando, it's finally time for us to test it out for ourselves. Our first trip was on a Friday night, a surprise from my wife after a long week of work. We've seen a lot of people recommend this restaurant and we were super excited to go.

The restaurant at the time of writing this review was next door in the golf club house since the main restaurant was being used for a company. So this is their pop-up location right next door. With that the ambiance isn't there, but we knew that going in.

So for the food, well it was really good. I will go into detail below. Now in our opinion, was this the best restaurant in Orlando? No. Now we are taking away points for the pop-up location. Food we enjoyed a lot, but just think since it's out of their element it felt very relaxed. Service was superb.

This is the main dining area of the restaurant.

From another angle.

Starting with a selection of bread. All of them were really good.

We went with The Wedge Salad, it's topped with smoked bacon, chopped egg, red onion, tomato and we chose blue cheese dressing. I felt it was good, not overly impressed, my wife really enjoyed it.

My app was The Tuna. This was a trio of Tuna, smoked, confit and tartare. This was one of the best dishes I've had in my life. Each one was absolutely delicious. I'd go back and just order this, highly recommend.

Onto the entrees, for our sides we went with the Bull & Bear Fries. Basic fries, not much extra flavor here.

Also went with the Applewood Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese, I enjoyed this a lot. My wife wasn't as much as a fan of it. I'd go with this again.

For my wife's entrée, she went the Filet Mignon. We thought for a filet it was cooked perfect and was good with it's flavor. However they could have gone out of the box here and put something extra to make the dish pop. Considering how good everything else was this was somewhat of a let down for us. If you're looking for a basic filet, this will be great.

Onto hands down their best entree and best fried chicken in Orlando. They really got this right. I know what you're thinking, it's just fried chicken. It's the process hot they prepare and cook it. It was cooked to perfection and super soft and tender. The potatoes were also some of the best I've ever had.

Overall we recommend Bull & Bear, it's a really good restaurant that is located right on Disney property in the Bonnet Creek area.
